A native of Modesto, Cynthia Coughlin began her involvement
in ballet over 20 years ago with her two daughters, Elizabeth
and Sara, at Juline • School
of Dance and Bravo! Repertory Dance Theatre, forerunner
of Central West Ballet. Mrs. Coughlin’s
active involvement brought much support to the company,
culminating with the appointment of her husband, Bruce
Coughlin, as Board President of Central West Ballet.
Mrs. Coughlin comes to Central West Ballet with a
solid background in finance, organizational skills
and a history of community service. She holds a certification
of College Admissions Counseling from UC Berkeley and
founded an independent counseling practice, Coughlin & Associates,
in 2003. Former co-owner of California Fresh, a successful
catering company, Mrs. Coughlin’s focus on financial
business operations and community based support system
is an important addition to Central West Ballet. With
her extensive background in youth projects and education,
she has been an advocate for the arts in Modesto for
more than 20 years. For Central West Ballet, she is
currently at work, helping to solidify the foundations
of the company with new outreach programs and procuring
growth in funding.
Mrs. Coughlin also brings experience in the managing
of resources to Central West Ballet in light of the
coming transition into the Gallo Center for the Arts.
With the growth of Central West Ballet taking the company
to higher levels, Mrs. Coughlin’s appointment
as its Executive Director extends the reach of the
company in terms its educational and professional future.
