A native of Modesto, Cynthia Coughlin began her involvement in ballet over 20 years ago with her two daughters, Elizabeth and Sara, at Juline • School of Dance and Bravo! Repertory Dance Theatre, forerunner of Central West Ballet. Mrs. Coughlin’s active involvement brought much support to the company, culminating with the appointment of her husband, Bruce Coughlin, as Board President of Central West Ballet.

Mrs. Coughlin comes to Central West Ballet with a solid background in finance, organizational skills and a history of community service. She holds a certification of College Admissions Counseling from UC Berkeley and founded an independent counseling practice, Coughlin & Associates, in 2003. Former co-owner of California Fresh, a successful catering company, Mrs. Coughlin’s focus on financial business operations and community based support system is an important addition to Central West Ballet. With her extensive background in youth projects and education, she has been an advocate for the arts in Modesto for more than 20 years. For Central West Ballet, she is currently at work, helping to solidify the foundations of the company with new outreach programs and procuring growth in funding.

Mrs. Coughlin also brings experience in the managing of resources to Central West Ballet in light of the coming transition into the Gallo Center for the Arts. With the growth of Central West Ballet taking the company to higher levels, Mrs. Coughlin’s appointment as its Executive Director extends the reach of the company in terms its educational and professional future.
