Sponsor Sets & Costumes
Ballet is the second most expensive performing art form after Opera. A single Tutu can easily cost a minimum of $1,200.00. Multiply this by a ensemble of corps dancers of 14 to 16 members and you can see how the cost raises exponentially. Backdrops can also easily cost a minimum of $7,500.00 each. A good solid quality Backdrop is at least $10,000.00. Full-length ballets display a minimum of one backdrop per Act. Their are one, two, three and four Acts Story Ballets (CWB's Nutcracker for example, is a two act ballet with four main backdrops: a Street Scene, a Mansion Scene, A Snow Scene and a Land of the Sugar Plum Fairy Scene). Additional set pieces and Legs and Borders are necessary to dress the proscenium of a theatre and we are always seeking help in adding to our presentations. At times, a ballet company will use a rental instead of building a production that would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. A good rental generally starts at $20,000.00 dollars and doest not include drayage and insurance. Individuals, businesses and corporations can sponsor a production or a series of elements to help Central West Ballet offset the cost of productions. Your contribution to a show's inner workings is another imaginative way of making and cultural difference and making it fun and unique at the same time! Central West Ballet's shows are always imaginative and worth the time! Call (209) 576-8957 to make a donation toward our productions.
Funds for Pointe Shoes
Pointe Shoes (sometimes referred to as 'toe shoes') are the corner stone of professional ballerinas. Pointe Shoes are painstakingly crafted by hand, are expensive and wear out quickly. A single pair of professional Pointe Shoes cost $60.00 and up. Ballerinas can go through several pairs per week. Central West Ballet has implemented a Pointe Shoe Fund to help keep our dancers on their toes! Please consider making a donation to our Pointe Shoes Fund and call (209) 576-8957. When you next see a performance by our Ballerinas, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you helped them in their performances.
Sponsor a Dancer
Central West Ballet's existence would not be without our dancers. Ballet companies can not rely solely on ticket sales to keep their costs at the break even point. This is at the heart of a non for profit organization. Ticket sales account for only 40% of our annual budget. Your contribution is crucial and honorable. What better way to support the Ballet than to direct your financial support to a real person, someone you come to see perform and gives you hours of joy, passion and exciting theatre experience. Supporting a local dancer makes a difference in your own community. Please call Central West Ballet to inquire about supporting a dancer at (209) 576-8957.
